Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Recoy, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Existing private-beta acknowledgments are separate product records and are not retroactively treated as acceptance of these Terms.

2. Description of Recoy

Recoy is an AI-based communication and relationship-guidance service. It offers private AI conversations, optional connections with other users, and privacy-controlled context intended to help users reflect and communicate more clearly.

3. Beta status

Recoy is evolving. Features, eligibility, limits, and functionality may change, and availability may be interrupted. We may use voluntary beta feedback to improve the service. Beta status does not reduce our commitment to reasonable privacy, security, and operational practices.

4. Accounts and authentication

You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Recoy may offer authentication through email or third-party providers such as Google, Apple, or Facebook. Your use of a provider is also subject to that provider’s terms and settings. You are responsible for activity through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

5. Connections

“Connection” is a neutral Recoy product term. It does not establish or represent any particular legal, family, romantic, professional, or personal relationship. Connecting accounts does not expose either person’s raw private conversations or create a shared direct-message thread.

Only invite or connect with people you are authorized to contact. Do not use invitations to harass, pressure, impersonate, monitor, or mislead another person.

6. User content

You retain ownership of content you provide to Recoy. You grant Recoy a limited license to host, process, transmit, analyze, and reproduce that content only as technically necessary to operate, secure, and provide the service according to the Privacy Policy and your settings. This license does not give Recoy a broad perpetual right to commercially exploit your private conversations.

You are responsible for having the rights needed to submit content and for avoiding content that unlawfully violates another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.

7. AI output and limitations

AI output can be wrong, misunderstand context, or be incomplete, inappropriate, or inaccurate. You remain responsible for your decisions, communications, and actions. Recoy does not guarantee a relationship outcome or that any guidance will be suitable for your circumstances.

Recoy is not therapy, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, emergency response, or a substitute for a qualified professional. If you face an emergency or immediate danger, contact appropriate local emergency services or a qualified professional.

8. Safety and acceptable use

You may not use Recoy for unlawful conduct; harassment; threats; stalking; coercive control; impersonation; non-consensual monitoring; exploitation; attempts to obtain another person’s private Recoy messages; defeating privacy or security controls; distributing malware; or scraping or automated extraction that burdens, disrupts, or compromises the service. You also may not probe for vulnerabilities or access accounts, data, or systems without authorization.

9. Privacy

The Privacy Policy describes how Recoy handles information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Product privacy controls and shared-context agreements operate according to the actual settings, permissions, and consent architecture available in Recoy. A connection does not override those controls.

10. Notifications and email

If you enable notifications or provide an email address, Recoy may send transactional, security, invitation, beta-program, or service communications. You can manage optional notification categories and previews through available settings. Some operational or account-related messages may still be necessary to provide or secure the service.

11. Intellectual property

Recoy’s software, branding, interfaces, design, and service content are owned by Recoy or its licensors, except for user-owned content and identified third-party materials. These Terms do not grant you rights to use Recoy branding or copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer the service except where applicable law permits it.

12. Feedback

You may voluntarily provide product feedback. Recoy may use that feedback to evaluate and improve the service without acquiring ownership of your private conversation content. Do not include another person’s confidential information in feedback.

13. Third-party services

Recoy relies on third-party infrastructure, authentication, AI, email, analytics, monitoring, and notification services. Their services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but we select and configure providers to support Recoy’s operation and privacy design.

14. Suspension and termination

We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address security risks, abuse, illegal activity, material violations of these Terms, or threats to Recoy or its users. You may stop using Recoy at any time. To request account or data deletion, contact privacy@recoy.ai.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Recoy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, the accuracy or usefulness of AI output, or any particular result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Recoy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from or related to use of the service. Liability is not excluded or limited where applicable law does not permit it.

17. Consumer and non-waivable rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or waives consumer protections or other rights that legally cannot be excluded, restricted, or waived.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Recoy changes. We will post updated Terms here and change the “Last updated” date. If required, we will provide additional notice or request acceptance before updated Terms apply.
